Ceramic Grinding Stone
Can be used with or without water
Coarse side (180 grit) and fine side (600 grit)
Diameter 57 mm (2.2”)
Weight: 160 g (6.5 oz)

seems like a nice little item

I’ve seen that for sale many times but I’ve never bought one. I’m not sure why I’ve avoided it, but it’s an interesting item. It would work for large knives and other tools, too. It’d be worth experimenting with at least. You might be able to load it with mineral oil, I just finished doing that with the medium Spyderco rods.

I'm sure it is a nice item. However, like most things Gransfors Bruks, it is priced way out of line. I have 4 of their axes. They are surely nice and work well, but you can get the same capability for much less. Here is a link to a similar puck for $17.50. (It looks suspiciously the same.) You can get it and several others at Baryonyx Knives. I think the owner is a member of this forum.

Are these ceramic in the sense of a Spyderco ceramic that doesn't wear down

That is what I was going to say, it does seem a little pricey.

Not sure if it is a sintered ceramic. I am not sure how to find out what type of abrasive it is. Are there and reviews on that describe the abrasive and binder?

Japanese Axe Puck Waterstone for $5

Maybe this is the route you should go Kyley, price is right depending on how you can source it.
