Bushcraft MSL Bolos

Remember the guy who criticized the junglas?

His response was to start making his own blades

He tests them in a few videos

He's made it to a few big channels such as we all juggle knives, opinions of WJAK aside (Chum), he is getting some exposure. Performance doesn't look too bad from the limited amount of work WJAK does with it.

Nice find dragonetti thumbs up

Looks like a good chopper. I thought Marius's criticisms of the Junglas made sense (I don't own a Junglas so I don't know.) It is interesting to see how many thumbs down he received for making that video. ESEE apologists.

Marius gets bonus points from me for actually using his blades in his videos and throwing them! You don't often see a maker throw their chopper.

The only criticism I have is the full tang. As cliff says "full tangs on bolos makes the baby Jesus cry"

His video on his junglas really brought out the worst of the esee fanboys. I own a 5 and I thought about making a post on it on esee's forum about how the edge angle is way too high, and I decided not too just because I didn't want to deal with the fanboys. So props to him for having the guts to do that, and attempting to reason and talk with the people who commented on the video

Why? Balance? Transmission of shock?

Mostly shock, and I don't like full tangs because they can get very cold and uncomfortable in the winter if I'm barehanded.

Mostly shock,

I don't understand this. I have full tang choppers that transmit basically no shock to the hand.

Chum: The tang may have been annealed or designed to better transmit vibration.

Folding knives are fun, fixed blades are important.

Maybe I've used knives that transmit more shock into my hand? Maybe I'm just sensitive you never know lol.

That's my point. You can have a full tang that doesn't transmit vibration. Saying... "full tangs on bolos makes the baby Jesus cry" while funny, makes no sense.

Perhaps it would be more appropriate to say "poorly designed full tangs on bolos make the baby Jesus cry."
